    Trivia Contest

To celebrate the 4th of July holiday and the release of the new annual Idea Book & Catalog I am announcing a Trivia Contest.

Be the first person to email me with the correct answer and win the new catalog, a card stock sampler, some new ribbon and a secret gift. This is a sampler that I have made up that contains samples of all the current plain Stampin' Up! card stock, each labeled on a ring.

    Catalogbutton0910 The question is:
Who founded Stampin' Up! in 1988?

Email me your answers by Friday, July 10th!

    Good luck!

    Freedom is not free

Murphy's Law has gotten the best of me. Just back from vacation and trying to get all settled and back into stamping and the time I had set aside last night to make a nice Fourth of July project got tabled because I had car troubles and spent the evening with AAA and traveling to the car dealership. Boo hoo or Wha as my sister would say!

Since we are celebrating our independence this weekend I wanted to take the opportunity to recognize and thank all the men and women who serve (or are currently serving) our country. We all know that our freedom is not free and it should not be taken for granted. Thank you for making the United States a better place for us!

I leave you with the Muppets tribute to the 4th of July!

    Football anyone?

I know there are a lot of Dad's out there that love football, so why not make them a football Father's Day card? Its another super easy card to make!

    Football Download the pattern here.
Print pattern on heavier weight stock. Cut out. Trace the ball onto your desired brown (or color of your choice) card stock. Trace the border twice and cut out. (I cut the laces freehand.)

    Recipe
Chocolate Chip Card Stock & Ink
    Whisper White Card Stock
    Craft Knife

Variation: Add texture to the base card. Use a Texturz plate or Cuttlebug folder.

    Golf anyone?

A cute quick and easy idea just in time for Father's Day! Does your Dad like to play golf? Well then this is the card for you!

Golf Whisper White and Glorious Green card stock

    Always Artichoke Ink

    Accessories
    Big Shot
    SU Backgrounds 1 Texturz plates

    Circle Scissors

I cut the stock to fit the Medium Square sixed envelope:
    5-1/4 x 5-1/4"
    Scored and folded the card
Next I used the Circle Scissors to cut the circle.
Then I ran the card through the Big Shot using the Texturz large dots plate.
Added the sentiment on the outside.
I then cut two more smaller circles using the Glorious Green card stock and adhered them to the inside, then stamped the sentiment.

The textured dots might be hard to see, so you could sponge a gray color on the card to give more definition.

    Walk in the Park

I truly love this paper! I'll be sad to see it go at the end of the month. An everyday kind of card...

ForYou I picked up the Cameo Coral in the Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the Very Vanilla.

Gotta love the eyelet border and the scallop oval punches! Thank you Stampin' up!

I used the sentiment from the Great Friends stamp set with Basic Gray ink.

I cut out the butterflies and adhered them with dimensionals and folded them a bit for some extra dimension.

    Fisherman's jacket

I haven't shown any samples for Father's day so far...so here is one I've been waiting to make for about a year now. I showcased this in my newsletter.
Fisher2 I used the Sanded background stamp, and sponged the edges of the pieces for the pockets. The rest was just cutting and assembly. I used vintage brads. You could use grommets, buckles, etc.

I used oval and circle punches for the neck and arm holes.

You can accessorize the card by adding your man's favorite lures, or make miniature copies using feathers and wire.

    Be creative!
