We're all about Ebony & Ivory this month! Due to my limited schedule lately I've made one card for this hop. So this will be short, but hopefully sweet!

For as long as I can remember I've always liked the simple elegance of black and white cards. But I thought I would add a little pop to this card, since after all it is a Valentine!

I even stamped the envelope...which for those of you who know me, know that I hardly do that! Will wonders ever cease?!

2012 has started with a bang! I hope 2012 has been treating you well!

Holiday Home Décor

Today's hop is all about holiday home décor. I've chossen a project I showcased in my 12 Weeks of Christmas newsletter.

I call it my Faux Bois Candle set (from French for false wood). This is a home décor piece that is dual purpose. During the holidays it can be used as a glowing centerpiece and after the holiday, you can put your favorite pictures in it!

The poinsettia pieces can be used as accents on other items throughout your house!

Hop Hop!

Thank you for hopping today with us, “Hopping Just for the Fun of it”! Today is our fist hop! Our theme is Halloween / Fall Happenings. Plan on visiting us each month to get great ideas for you next card or project! Our next hop will be the first Saturday of the Month, November 5th. You may of came today from Stop #11, Amanda Harbison's blog, Life Is... I happen to be Stop #12 out of the 14 stops this month.

At our recent INKredibles (demo only) 2 day event I learned a new technique, what we called double embossing. I made this fancy favor using that technique. You use a brayer to apply VersaMark to the inside of the embossing folder before you run it through the Big Shot machine. Then you add embossing powder and heat. Depending on which side of the embossing folder you use you can get a different effect. Pretty neat!

I did my scrapbook page using the newest elements in Stampin' Up's My Digital Studio.

I had to be a little bit creative with the spelling of Spooke since the "Spook Central Ensemble" doesn't come with the letter "Y". Hmm, I wonder why? Anyway, I could have made it in Photoshop but that wouldn't have been right!

The picture is a ground breaker skeleton that is featured in my "Dead End Cemetary" in my front yard. It was taken last Halloween.
